Ficlet for a castleland challenge - picture prompt (Ryan & Espositio looking at something/someone)




Ryan stared across the room. Next to him, his partner, Esposito, was equally dumbstruck. Ryan found his voice first.

"That's, um, a, er, very interesting costume."

"Uh-huh."

"Not that's there anything wrong with it," Ryan went on, as Martha belted out a show tune from the small stage. "She still looks pretty amazing."

"Castle might disagree," Esposito pointed out. "I mean, she's not your mother."

"Yeah. But it's mostly lace."

"Mostly."

"Not actually that much skin on display when you look closer," Ryan said. "It's more – what do you call it, leaving it to the imagination?"

"Risque? Suggestive?"

"Yeah, that." Ryan tipped his head. "She's got a great voice, hasn't she?"

Esposito nodded, but added, "I don't think Castle's going to be concerned about her voice."
