6 dialogue writing prompts for inspiration

Text version:
* If you stab someone in the heart you shouldn't be surprised when they bleed to death
* You're only this affectionate when you want something or you've done something wrong. Which is it?
* I know I said your life is complicated but I never said I didn't want to be part of it anyway.
* I know it will take time. And I'm here with you, every moment it takes.
* I'm not saying it's a good plan, but at least it's a plan.
* Sleep, my love. I promise I'll be here when you wake up.

I've previously posted these four writing prompts to my Tumblr itslmdee where I post occasional prompts, promos, links to articles of interest, and reblog posts about writing and creativity.
They also featured on my twitter and they're also saved at my Pinterest Board Writing Prompts featuring prompts by myself and by others.

That was a little more adventure than I'd planned on All things considered I think that could have gone better Rule #1: never believe your own bs It's fine I'm pretty sure most of this blood isn't mine

I've mentioned http://www.reddit.com/r/WritingPrompts/ before; I don't belong to reddit but this particular url was recommended by Get Your Words Out as being a source of unusual prompts. I've written a prompt and posted to my journal before and I enjoy seeing the prompts and reading some of the fills.

A recent prompt was "The gods of the English language have become enraged with peoples misuse of the word 'literal' and decide to make all uses of the word become literal."
My favourite response to the prompt is this one by kittythekillerkid, in which someone cleverly uses this to their advantage.
I mention it because I covered something very similar in my metafiction verse in the ficlet Literally vs Metaphorically where the self-aware characters meet an aspect of their Creator (author) who takes a dim view of people claiming to be, for example, "literally on fire".

It's a double-edged thing to see someone suggest/write/make a tv episode that deals with something you've tackled. Because one, how the hell are you supposed to be original and get noticed? But two, hey, it shows you're onto something that other people want to explore. And what's truly original anyway?
In this case it was a definite "I did something similar, yay me" moment. Which was much needed.

I haven't really written poetry since I left writerverse and the weather this week has made it hard to concentrate for long periods. So each day for seven days (21-27) I've written a poem, using various ideas and prompts and styles. I posted them only at Dreamwidth for various reasons.

I'd also like to recommend the following sites for prompts and resources:

http://poetryprompts.tumblr.com/archive - still being updated, and has over 200 posts currently in the archive

http://fuckyeswritingprompts.tumblr.com/archive - not currently updated but over 370 posts in the archive for you to peruse

http://writeworld.tumblr.com - prompts, advice/discussion on writing and links in their sidebar to specifc features: word of the day; prompts by type; references,; tips; and word lists (things like names for types of shoes, words that are alternatives to 'ask', Greek words for 'love').

http://poewar.com/category/30-poems-in-30-days-2009/ - a more structured challenge, a whole month's worth of poems!
