Seen via [personal profile] kitarella_imagines a January art and comment bingo-styledfest

Link here: https://fanartfrenzy.tumblr.com/post/799939912764997632/introducing-fanart-frenzy

"Fanart Frenzy is a month-long bingo event designed to bring a wave of fanfiction-inspired fanart into the community, entirely free and unsolicited, as fandom is supposed to be, in order to stem the flow of these scammers, encourage our favorite fic writers, and liven up our fandoms. This event is anti-AI - real, human-made art only! Our first event will take place from January 1-31, 2026."

After visiting that page and using the sign up link you'll be in the queue for a bingo card.
"Then throughout January, you can make as few or as many pieces of art as you like - you can aim for a bingo, a blackout, or just pick one fic you really want to make art for. This event is about all kinds of art, not just traditional art - everything from playlists to gif sets to cookies to fiber arts, memes, and more. Anything artistic you can do inspired by a fanfic is perfect for this event.

If you don’t enjoy making art, the event also includes a Comment Challenge! During sign up, you can choose a bingo card with only art-related prompts, only commenting-related prompts, or a mix of the two. Non-artists can participate alongside artists by following the prompts to find fics in their fandoms in need of thoughtful, kind comments. (Ex. Leave a comment on a fic you’ve reread.)

You can also help us out by spreading the word! Please tell your friends and fandom communities about our event!"

This round of [community profile] trope_bingo is another amnesty round meaning you can make your own cards from the provided prompts, or reuse any of your old cards. The round also runs until June to include the usual amnesty period. As well as the usual bingo patterns you can submit "loose fills" i.e. fills that don't make a bingo.
The lower fills requirement is also still in effect, so 100 rather than 500 word minimum for fanfic with similar lower minimums for other types of fill.

In an attempt to try and get back to writing I'm attempting the [community profile] allbingo March challenge. The theme is "meet ugly"

This month's fest is all about the humor and tragedy of awkwardness. While a "meet cute" is a scene where two characters are introduced in an adorable, cute, funny, charming way, a "meet ugly" is a scene where your characters encounter each other in a horrible, unfortunate, unflattering way. (and still manage to like each other! )

For reasons I can't fathom I think signing up for this no deadline challenge is a good idea. Write at least a drabble for each prompt but using 100 fandoms total (ie one per prompt). Any and all fandoms (original fic doesn't count here but original characters in a fandom would). Crossovers allowed. Re-using previously fics is allowed.
Check it out and get the table code at [community profile] 100fandoms
I really need to finish my 100-tales table still but this looks like fun so, here's the table under the cut.

[community profile] trope_bingo is running an amnesty round for round 12. Reuse or complete a previous card, or make your own from the provided prompts (instructions at the site.) There are also lower minimum requirements for fills, and a longer time period to complete since the usual amnesty period is included as part of the standard round, so if you've wanted to try a bingo but the deadline or amount of words/art needed to complete has put you off this would be a great time to give it a go.

I'm still processing things but I'm slowly moving on, realising part of the anger is because I got dumped without chance to defend myself when I should have left them ages ago given how often they managed to be insensitive.
Also that's three ex-friend bisexuals who've managed to pull shit about my being asexual and it's really starting to wear thin. I still believe that bisexual people aren't all like them, but I keep seeing otherwise and it sucks. I don't tend to have much in common with other asexuals online either, which is frustrating.

I've written a little, and edited quite a bit, things I'd started a while back and finally polished and posted.
I signed up for NaNo but I don't know if I'll actually participate, or if I'll do rebel NaNo and include anything I write in November.
I got my Yuletide assignment and I'm happy with it and have some potential fic to work on soon which is nice! I'm also pretty sure which fandom I requested will be the one I got matched on and I'll be excited to see what gift I get ;
I like to write treat fic too; it was a bit disappointing skimming a few letters and seeing someone asking for the same fic I wrote as treat fic last year. Maybe they just reposted their letter without updating it. But still. It wasn't just "I'd love a coffee shop au" type deal either, but a very specific thing, say "A works as a barista and B is a student that A starts giving free coffee to but then they find out B's ex is the coffee shop owner and angst ensues". I can't help wonder if it's because I didn't include Explicit Sex that the treat fic which hit all the points they wanted wasn't good enough :/ (Bonus since my assignee last year didn't respond to either fic I wrote for them nor the two treat fics other authors gifted them, which is against the spirit of yuletide. Luckily we all got comments from other readers.)
It won't stop me writing more treat fic for others though. And one of the treat fics from last year finally got a comment from the person I'd tried to gift it to (but their Ao3 name didn't seem to match their DW name where I read their letter).

Thing I did this week: back up my harddrive. Maybe some of you need a reminder to back up data? :)

Last week I was outside in a t-shirt. This week I'm thinking winter has arrived!

I'll be away the rest of the week and will catch up when I get back. I've scheduled posts for the professional blog (the Samhain post I published here today).

Have a good week everyone!
