Questions if you want to play:
Fics Posted 2025: 16 fics including a couple that I'd previously written some time back for Lands of Magic and finally got around to polishing and posting, one Yuletide fic, an
unconventionalcourtship fic, and a fic for
bethefirst which I'd started the previous summer but finally used the challenge as a push to complete and post it.
Total word count: 27,298
Fandoms written in: Bad Education (UK TV), Blood & treasure (TV), Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog*, Magnum P.I. (TV 2018), Nautilus (TV), Our Flag Means Death (TV), Revenge (TV), Rivals (TV 2024), Sky Protect Smart Home Insurance Sponsors Evenings on Sky Showcase - Cam and Bell (Commercial)**, Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, The Ark (TV 2023), The Madame Blanc Mysteries (UK TV), The Office (US), The Witcher (TV)***, Zoolander (Movies)
* This was a crossover fic with The Witcher (TV)
** The Be the First challenge
*** three fics including the previously mentioned crossover
Fandoms I wouldn't have expected to write this year: Most of them aside from Revenge, Blood & Treasure, Dr Horrible and the Witcher, all of which I've written before. I mean I watched the first episode of Rivals and thought Oh My God You Are All Terrible People but kept watching and here we are, Fandom.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Less. Like I said, some of this were already/partly written.
What's your own favourite story of the year?: Hard to say. I'm fond of "Burn" the crossover fic, and "Kiss Me, Slay Me" the Office US fic where I take the vampire storyline from a particular episode and run with it.
My best story of this year: Best as opposed to favourite? A Pain Shared is a Pain Halved, the Madam Blanc fic is quite heavy and maybe best in terms of mature themes?
Most popular story of this year: Quite the Evening, the Rivals fic got the most hits
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: The Ark TV one because it was my first fic of the year, written and posted in angst ridden fix-it mode and why aren't more people in this fandom and crying with me?!
Most fun story to write: "Inappropriate" the Bad Education fic. I don't write a lot of comedy but this was fun.
Sexiest story/story with the single sexiest moment: For One Night Only, the Revenge Yuletide fic. I don't usually write explicit fic but recipient was keen on explicit material so I went there. (and got precisely one comment from the recipient, while a treat fic for them with same fandom/pairing/explicitness got more comments which is kind of disheartening)
Hardest story to write: The Revenge fic pushed me out of my comfort zone. The Blood & Treasure fic was technically difficult, where I for the first time used a work skin to make it into a WhatsApp Group Chat.
Did you take any writing risks this year?: I don't think so? I mean out of my comfort zone/learning new things like above. I did a dialogue only fic, and a crossover, and an AU and a canon divergence but none of those were new to me.
Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?: Write things. Edit them. Post them.
Stories I haven't yet written, but intend to: I've got a Small Fandom Bang WiP (Poker Face TV) and a massive list of things in my endless project list spreadsheet of fic/fanvids/orig work that gets more added to than ever taken away.
Stories I have started writing, but never finished: PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE WIP PILE.

Date: 2026-01-06 05:18 am (UTC)Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog! I haven't thought about that show in ages. ♥
I think that's kinda why I hate doing exchanges? Or one of the reasons - because you never know how the requestor will react to your work or if it's stuff you're not completely comfortable with doing. I don't know Revenge at all, sorry.
I like prompt tables or just prompt challenges more than exchanges, lower stakes and you write what you want to.
I love that pic! It's perfect!
