I don't think I have any fandoms to participate with. The one time I was the first to write something at AO3 it was well between rounds of this challenge :P I still always subscribe to the comm as I think it is a great idea that gives people the encouragement to dare to post for a new fandom at AO3, and it's always fun to see what people come up with.

It does sound like a good idea! I suppose it's just fandoms that count, not rare pairs? I've got loads of rare pairs but no firsts for fandoms. I've got fics that are in fandoms with under 10 stories but I haven't been the first...yet!

Yes for this only a fandom with zero entries at AO3 counts. I know the feeling, there are fandoms with so few entries...maybe one day you'll find one, and I'll find another when the challenge is running!

It ends on the 20 April so that's about a month a half? But with so much going on it's probably a minor miracle when you get to finish a project at all!

It's such a great idea...but I can't think of any fandoms outside....books and song lyrics. Bah.

Books count. Specific fairy tales and folk legends count. Songs count. Anything can have a fandom. AO3 has many categories beyond TV and Film. I rec'd a fic during Snowflake that was based on the video to the Annie Lennox song "Broken Glass" :)
There are fics and fanart for adverts and Tarot cards and songs some of which get nominated at Yuletide each year (Jolene by Dolly Parton; Me & Julio Down By the Schoolyard; Kiss From a Rose are just some I've seen mentioned).
So if you have a book or song/song vid that isn't currently represented at AO3, go for it :)
