Challenge #1 Update your fandom information. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space.
I actually updated some of my profile info in 2023. I'd been away for a while and then came back gradually and suddenly my pinned posts were in my feed not future-dated and somewhat out of date in general. So DW and LJ and more recently FF.net (I'm rarely posting there but do sometimes post for older fandoms).
I updated some of my interests but they probably need more work. My tags, recent posts, and what I post to AO3 are probably more indicative of current trends.
I have just updated my AO3 profile to tidy it up a little.
My profiles at LJ, DW, AO3, all include a statement on transformative work.
Challenge #2 In your own space, set yourself some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.
I made inroads into my massive 'marked for later' list on AO3 mid-2023. Anything much over 5k and especially over 10k I find difficult to read at the pc, so I mark for later and at some point download for reading on my Kindle. They get removed from the list when I've read them and, if I've finished them and loved them, left a comment (and sometimes bookmarked). Toward the end of the year I wasn't reading so much and I've since deleted a few and added a few more. I'd like to clear at least 10 of those longer fics from my list this year and try not to add too many more :P
I'd like to continue with participating in
lands_of_magic, complete a bingo in at least one round of
genprompt_bingo, and complete my
smallfandombang which I've been working on for some months now.
I'd like to meet my
getyourwordsout [GYWO] goal again this year, 180 days of writing. I'd like, especially for that community, to write some more original fic snippets, drabbles, and poetry. If I can get to a stash of at least 12 decent pieces I will then consider posting monthly to my original fic blogs again which haven't been updated in over three years.
I completed some of my personal goals for last year, from visiting a cathedral (saw Gloucester Cathedral) to baking certain things, but others didn't get done. So I'm carrying over "make a cheesecake" to this year and adding a specific "visit Lichfield cathedral" as I didn't get to do that on last year's visit to Lichfield. See the Museum of the Moon a touring exhibit is one I haven't managed. In the past it's been close enough I could have seen it if I'd known about it (e.g. Coventry) but there hasn't been a close enough one the couple of years.

Date: 2024-01-16 12:30 pm (UTC)I'm also doing GYWO! I adjusted my pledge down this year and hope I finally chose the just-right for me, since I haven't met my pledge once yet :) It's lovely to see involvement in multiple comms! I'm trying to narrow down the ones that are most helpful for myself as well, (ideally!) without overcommitting.
I'm so impressed by people who not only plan but are able to organise and reduce their Marked For Later list! :D I barely dare look at it, which is of course one of the reasons for how out of control it is 😂 Best of luck with all of your goals, and maybe see you around the
