In the episode "Missing Identity" (s03e58a) a troubled Spongebob sits in a cafe and then starts telling the waitress and customer the story of how he lost his identity. He had an odd morning, woken by his alarm as usual but getting caught up and rolling downstairs. He had the idea to taste his pet snail's food and it was disgusting. It took him a few attempts to get dressed. He went to work as usual but a customer pointed out he wasn't wearing his name tag.
This drove Spongebob into a panic, feeling he'd lost his identity and not knowing who he was without it, fearing punishment from his boss for not having his name tag, and worried someone might find his name tag and use it to impersonate him.
Squidward suggested Spongebob retrace his steps which he did including falling downstairs and tasting the pet food again! He tried to recreate his greeting with his friend Patrick, but ended up restarting his day a few more times. Eventually Patrick suggested the name tag might be in the dumpster.
Spongebob got annoyed when Patrick forgot what they're looking for and in an argument that follows said at least he wasn't wearing his shirt backwards. Spongebob looks and finds his shirt is on backwards. He turns his shirt around and there is his nametag.
The episode ends back at the cafe where the waitress tells him he managed to waste 11 minutes, and confuses Spongebob when she admits she's wearing her friend's name tag as her own uniform is at the cleaners.
