Easter Decorations

I made an Easter wreath this year.
The base is scrap cardboard cut into a circle. The leaves are from scrap paper destined for reycling which I painted with basic watercolours and used a felt pen to add detail. the larger pompoms I made from bits of wool. The eggs are hand drawn and coloured.
The larger rabbits were from a felting needle kit. It was supposed to make one rabbit but I made two smaller ones instead. This isn't my first project but was the first made without a polystyrene base.
The smaller rabbit (flat) near bottom was made from leftover felting materials from other projects. My older nephew insisted it looks like a bird, with the tail being the bird's eye!
The flowers and tiny pompoms were leftovers from my younger nephew's Easter bonnet he made for school (older children make egg decorations).
The ribbon was recycled material, having been around a small celebration cake originally.
The Hoppy Easter was printed on home computer and attached with a bit of thread from my box of cross stitch materials.
The leaves and felted decorations were glued on with a glue gun. Small double sided foam pads were used for the flowers and pompoms.
My younger nephew made me this from leftovers from his Easter bonnet, a nest with a tiny chick glued in, plus what is not in fact an egg or flower but, he informed me, a worm, because chicks eat worms :)

Date: 2023-04-10 10:53 am (UTC)I started with a kit that came with a polystyrene base which I found made the whole thing easier, plus I watched a few videos on youtube to make sure I was 'doing it right' and the basics are easy once you start, though I'm still in awe of the big detailed projects people complete :) I wish you luck, it's a lovely craft.

Date: 2023-04-10 10:55 am (UTC)I'd seen needle felt on some TV shows featuring crafts and I was lucky enough to get a cheap complete craft kit at a local Christmas fair. The basics are simple but I am in awe of the big detailed pieces people create :)
