The theme of the month for the writing blogs was 3 sentence fics. I posted 3 x 3 sentence fics to wordpress and tumblr each week and in one batch to my DW fiction blog. I'm also posting all of them here.

For #writingwednesday, 3 x 3 sentence fics based on prompts found at 300+ One-Word Writing Prompts by Michael Kwan at freelance-writing.
Peace
The moon was full, the sky cloudless, the stars clear out here in the countryside. He took a deep breath of the cool night air. This was what he needed, a moment of peace.
Tenacious
The young girl picked herself up, dusted off her hands. She stood up the bike and climbed back on. Her mother smiled as the girl cycled all the way down the path this time.
Impress
"I'm not easy to impress, but you've succeeded."
"So I've got the job?"
"No...I have something better in mind for someone with your talent."

Melody
The happy couples moved around the dance floor and he watched, enjoying the music.
"Dance with me?" Ben asked, holding out one hand.
He hesitated only a moment before accepting, letting Ben hold him close as they swayed to the melody, ignoring what anyone else in his family might think.
Family
"Ben's cute," she said, nudging her brother as they took the air outside, his jacket draped around her shoulder. She smiled, adding, "I think we share the same taste in men."
He laughed, relieved at her easy acceptance of this part of his life, and said, "He's mine, sis!"
Laughter
"Why are you laughing when I have you both at my mercy?" the villain asked, frowning, while the resistance leader, in chains next to the laughing man, was just as perplexed.
The anti-hero lifted his now free hands, a blade clutched in one, saying, "You don't know me but I know how, after your advisor hired me to carry out an assassination, you ordered my murder. I survived and joined the resistance, let us get captured for this opportunity, the moment I finally take my revenge."

3 x 3 sentence fics.
drama
"When I said less drama, more llama, I meant it in the metaphorical sense."
"So...."
"So I didn't expect to come home to find a llama grazing in the garden!"
caress
Over the concrete promenade, up the rough cut steps, following the steeper trail up the hill. Pause at the crest to watch the sun as it dips into the ocean. Welcome the sea breeze caresses as the day turns into night.
unexpected
"What noise do ducks make?" she asked the toddler who was clutching her finger in his fist as they stood at the edge of the water.
"Quack!"
The nearby mallard gave her a sideways glance and said, "Meow."

Pet (WRE)
Romaine's job meant he didn't feel he had the time to devote to a pet, though he had put word around that he owned a dog. This was to assure anyone seeing him in Wolf form that it was just their quiet neighbour's pet, and to explain any 'dog fur' on his clothes. Being your own pet was a good option for a shapeshifter.
Storm (Sorceress Apprentice)
Bryony had never been afraid of storms. Now she embraced them. She was the eye of the storm, the centre of the maelstrom, the weaver of the wind, mistress of the rain, and it was glorious.
Evening (Juliet)
A drink in his hand, the moon above him, the memory of the pleasant evening meal he'd shared with his closest friends - his family. Sean had a vocation and purpose; was loving and loved. What more could one want?
31st
3 more 3 sentence fics for the final #writingwednesday of July. I started with 'tide' as a prompt and used a word from each ficlet as a prompt for the next.
tide
The scorching summer sun gave way to a cooler evening as high tide approached. The sun dipped into the water, red, pink, and orange streaked clouds surrounding the horizon like steam from the sun as the cool ocean seemed to extinguish the fireball. The welcome breeze stirred the marram grass on the sand dunes as the sky began to darken and Venus in her guise as the evening star rose to gaze upon the beach, the tide swallowing the sand too.
Venus
As the morning star she is visible to greet you as you walk the dog or begin your journey to work. As the evening star she is a familiar sight to keep you company as you sit outside enjoying summer evenings or head home as winter darkness draws in. She is the hottest planet in our solar system, our second closest neighbour, the brightest object after our sun and moon, given the name of a goddess of love, and a welcome sight to behold.
planet
He fiddled with the strange looking phone that she thought must be some new imported model, thin as glass, tapping at it as he frowned and asked, "What planet is this again?"
She gave him a sideways look, asking, "What do you mean which planet?"
"Um, country...province..county...never mind," he said, flustered, pocketing the device and trying to change the subject.
