I also got five kudos so it couldn't be that bad.
Please, if you like something, consider leaving a nice comment.
Also screw you, anon commentators, I’m not going to stop writing in that fandom or stop writing.
And concrit is welcome. I got a name wrong? Fine, tell me, I’ll fix it. But “and I thought this one shot sucked” is not concrit.

I'm sorry that happened to you. It can be discouraging to get hate comments (good for you for deleting them -- ain't nobody got time for that).

I got hit by the dS Anon again recently so you have my sympathies. Please keep writing, and imagine those five kudos-people standing in your room giving you a thumbs up or a hug or a smile. Five real people from all over the world read it and liked it and are thanking you for your hard work and for sharing the Thing You Made.

Sometimes when I get hate comments I make More Stuff out of Spite (spite can be a great motivator). Hang in there --

I'm sorry you got some hate comments. There are always people out there who want to drag down others. My response is always the same: "If you don't like this fic, maybe you should write your own." Because I find most of the people who've left me nasty comments are solely readers.

AO3 where this happened has many vistors/readers who don't have/want an account because they're not writers and don't see the need, or haven't yet got an invite to create an account, so I'd be cutting off a lot of potential comments for the sake of 1 or 2 people's spite. I could screen anon comments and if this happens again I'll go that route for a while, but thankfully this is a rare occurrence for me which is why I was so taken aback

It's rare for me though some people have been targeted and harassed frequently on multiple platforms. It's not even like this fic was ~controversial so I don't know why this one got someone (both look like same person) so riled up to leave anon hate.
Thank you. If it happens again I'll turn on screening for anon comments until it goes quiet. Starve people of the attention they want.

Yes. Deleted, so their negativity isn't visible now. If it happens again in the same fandom I'll start screening/disallowing anon comments on those. It's rare I've had this happen and I'm just amazed it was on something so inoffensive and not one of my ~problematic fics!

I tend to screen comments on any site; it just prevents nonsense from a tiny minority of pests. They're like mosquitoes - small and insignificant, but irritating. :)

Negative feedback is so frustrating. I luckily didn't get any for fic yet, just for art, where it doesn't bother me as much. I'm much more confident in my art.
