2017 kick off post

I seem to be playing catch up since the start of the year, partly because I allowed myself a hiatus for a couple of weeks - putting myself behind on my sfbb fics as well as my internet reading and commenting.
I had a good start to the year; my sister and her husband decided an experience was a good Christmas present and got tickets for them and our parents and their son (my nephew); we went to see Dick Whittington at the Birmingham Hippodrome, starring John Barrowman. I wrote a bit about it here.

Here's another gift I got, my GoT mug:

Last year I wanted to "get over myself" and do things out of my comfort zone. There are a few posts I tagged gtfom but not as many as I wanted to achieve. And while I sourced a cheap microphone and recorded a couple of my short fics as audio, I couldn't bring myself to post them as podfics, embarrassed by the quality.
I made my 200k GYWO goal but I didn't do NaNo in 2016 and that made the wordcount harder to achieve. I did write a lot of Yuletide fic but that's a separate post.
I wish it were Yuletide more often because there ere a lot of comments I received on those fics. (I'm behind on replying to them though)
So I'm trying to leave a comment on every fic I finish reading. If I don't nope/back-button out of it for whatever reason, I should leave something, even a sentence, or a gif. Not just click the kudos at AO3 or leave nothing on DW/LJ.
I want to write more this year. Finish more projects. Accomplish more. It doesn’t seem likely, while I'm struggling to catch up on my reading (I've barely touched the Yuletide 2016 archive yet and haven't started this year's
snowflake_challenge yet) but things will calm down soon I hope.
It would help if I could build on what I did to gtfom and do more things that are out of my comfort zone.
I don't want to talk about more personal things here or right now, but I might do so later. This isn't my monthly personal post anyway, this is my belated kick off to 2017 post.
I hope you can all achieve some of your goals this year.
