As I mentioned before I "won" NaNoWriMo, but the novel is not finished. I promised I'd work on it this month, but for various reasons, that is not going well.
I wondered if I could recapture my enthusiasm the way I do for fanfic – I can't revisit canon (well I can read what I've written so far, but that's a dangerous thing when you're still working on something, you can become even more overwhelmed or start editing instead of writing new words) but I can play with the world. Make fanworks (pics, mixes, etc), write AUs, complete memes, etc.
So today, here are some brief answers for the novel/characters and the questions
(1) describe your OTP making it sound terrible
(2) Imagine Your OCs being grateful that you created them.

I was looking for ship memes and I came across some old "describe your OTP and make it sound as terrible as possible" posts and so I procrastinated by writing some fanfic ones and posting them to Tumblr.

In terms of "Sorceress Apprentice" (SA), Bryony/Emeri?
Whiny dressmaker forced to take care of dying haughty magician.

For the prompt: http://oc-imagines-cult.tumblr.com/post/138292018215/imagine-your-ocs-being-grateful-that-you-created

"Grateful? Orphaned, abandoned, dying, let me count the ways I ought to be grateful!"

"Don't say that, Emeri. We're in a romance novel. I'm sure it will work out fine."

"Easy for you to say."

"You're the rich educated powerful sorcerer, witty and handsome and charming! I'm just a seamstress who's lost out on years of learning magic. Forced to become your caretaker, which is pretty awkward given how I used to have a crush on you."

"Forced. Yes, I remember how I blackmailed you into staying with me. Wait, that was your sister!"

"It wasn't blackmail. Kerine was trying to do her best for us. So neither of us would be alone. And I'm sure Kerine is glad to be off having an adventure. Your sister Sabrina, probably not so much."

"Well she shouldn't have left with that man."

"I agree, Emeri. I'm not your enemy."

"And you're not just a seamstress either. You have real talent, stitching and spellcasting. I guess I'm grateful for the chance to teach you as much as I can."

"I appreciate it. And I suppose I'm grateful for whatever time we do have together."

"What happened to 'I'm sure it will work out fine'?"

"It occurs to me that romances don't always have a happy ending. We have to be grateful for what storyline we get, no matter how it works out."

"You be grateful. I'm going to sulk."

"You do sulk so well."

"That's no way to talk to a dying man."

"You like it when I stand up to you."

"...yes, I do. You know me too well."

"Kind of the point of the romance. Now come here and kiss me, and that will be something we can both be grateful for."

This is a great idea! Also totally meta. 😁

(I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get round to reading this and other posts. I've been super busy the past few weeks since I started Kyol Che at my Zen center — extra meditation during each day, reading more, learning new chants, etc., and participating in projects of compassion to help others (e.g.: giving away useful things I'm not using anymore, helping some friends start a weekly NVC (nonviolent communication) group, etc). And then last week having several unusual extra things to do each day that used up more time and spoons than I'd expected, so haven't been keeping up with DW and other social media all that well lately.)

You're welcome. 😊 The other unusual activities didn't involve helping others, in fact. It was things like going to the gym for the first time in months to take advantage of an offer for a free session with a trainer last Wednesday, dinner with my parents on Thursday, and then on Friday I had an annual assessment with a social worker for them to figure out how many hours of care they think I'll need per month in the coming year. And all these activities involved extra stuff, like arranging transportation, calling in an order for gluten-free food at a Chinese restaurant to pick up on the way over to my parents, extra showering after the gym (that wasn't one of my usual shower days), and doing paperwork prior to the visit with the social worker. So all-in-all a busy week.

Now that's all done with, I can focus more on the Kyol Che stuff. 😌
