Byrony, not quite as dark-skinned her sister, and much taller, is a talented seamstress. She's the dreamer in the family in contrast to Kerine's more practical nature, and her sister sometimes scolds her for staying up reading by candlelight. She's around 26 years old, single, with a slim build, brown eyes, and dark shoulder length hair.
Bryony doesn't think she is good with people but it turns out she is more empathic than she believes, and more capable. She is incredibly loyal, loves her sister very much, and does not break promises. She is ambivalent about, but not against, finding a male partner so long as he treats her as an equal and does not want children (if she had the word for it, she'd identify as childfree).
She is not afraid of spiders, but is somewhat afraid of the dark.
When it becomes apparent she has a latent talent for magic, Emeri encourages her to study. Her talents lean towards air and weather magic.
She's likely ISFP (Myers-Briggs). I'm still debating her Tarot card; online quizzes have suggested Strength and the Queen of Pentacles. I think narratively her journey is towards becoming the High Priestess.
Bryony is initially reluctant to stay behind. While she prefers home to travelling, she'll miss and worry about Kerine. Furthermore Kerine volunteered her for nursemaid duty, playing companion to Emeri, who Bryony is both a little afraid of and enamoured by. Once settled into the house, she quickly develops a rapport with Emeri and is delighted by his library and his attempts to teach her. However as the Summer Solstice arrives she cannot deny that she's fallen in love, and that way lies heartbreak. A peasant seamstress should not long for a noble sorcerer, and it is foolish beyond belief to let herself care so deeply for a man who says he will not live to see the Winter Solstice.
