Demifiction: Weather Report
Unlike Different Does Not Mean Changed, which is a scene only referred to in the novel being told in full (canonical fanfic?) this is a direct excerpt from the novel I'm supposed to be editing:
"Today will be hot and dry. There has been a sighting of a crocodile by the far north bridge over the Erland Estuary so watch out. Today is the celebration of folk hero Dacey Allora, so have a few ales in his name, eh, and come to the Dacey Drama if you've a mind."
Context: Each morning at the palace in the southern land of Terrausde the herald announces the weather along with any pertinent warnings and news titbits. The Prime, Bryce, explains this to his guests;
At home the herald was the monarch's chief assistant, and Sophia was not reassured but Bryce grinned. "Sure enough, he's just going to make the morning announcements. The weather, for starters. Of course that's mostly 'hot and dry' or 'dry with sudden downpours' depending on time of year."
