Balance
This was for a small fandom fest prompt. It was the first threesome fic I wrote. I forced myself to make it more explicit than usual in keeping with the prompt. I wrote out each pairing first, showing the attractions between all characters, before the threesome finale, something I felt was important for the overall relationship dynamic to work. I call this a 'triad' where there is attraction between a/b, b/c, AND a/c, and it's my favourite kind of threesome.

Broken This fic took forever because I wrote it, felt it needed editing, got a beta reader via ff.net of all places, and while their comments were very helpful I did what I often do; abandon fic for months. Finally I did a rewrite and I'm still proud of the end result. It deals with a theme I've seen addressed elsewhere and would like to revisit at some point: what happens if you can't forget not just bad memories but the associated physical pain. Hurt/Comfort, teamwork, found families, and dealing with feelings of helplessness are other themes in this work. A "Firefly" fic, the actual summary is: Mal has a lot of bad memories, and now, imprisoned, he's being forced to relive them. Even if his crew can rescue him, he's been damaged.

The Ill-advised Skeletal Exchange Programme This is the most read of any of my fanfics, ever, helped along by several recs during and post the Yuletide exchange. Death has apparently temporarily exchanged places with his pen pal, Jack Skellington. Susan is, understandably, Not Impressed (though the Death of Rats finds the whole thing hilarious). It was a lot of fun to write because Susan and Jack Skellington are both awesome in their own way. (Fandoms if you've not guessed, Discworld/Nighmare Before Christmas). First book fandom fic.

The Last Thing She Said – to date, the only reverse chronology fic I've ever written. Also at AO3, FF.net, LJ

I'm also fond of Fear a Legend of the Seeker Cara-centric piece about what it's like to lose something vital and feel broken and useless, a burden on your companions. AO3, LJ

I've also thought about editing and reposting with fic art Unbalanced which I wrote before season 2 of LotS aired, and I might write Cara in particular differently. But I don't know if it needs it, or if it would be worth the effort.
