Still waiting for a UK airdate for season five of TVD (The Originals begins on the 22 Oct) and thinking about what I most remember about season four:

(1) Not enough Elijah
(2) Klaus is a dirtbag when he murders Carol Lockwood
(3) But then Klaus shows up to graduation simply because Caroline sent him a card /conflicted about Klaus
(4) Elena burns the house down, literally, WTF, what a stupid fucking thing to do. Where are she and now newly resurrected Jeremy going to live?
(5) Blah, blah, cure. Blah, blah, Silas.
(6) Katherine's human now
(7) Doppelganger twist/Silas
(8) So bored of Tyler Lockwood
(9) Stefan: You need to be human, I only love you when you're human Elena! I want you to breed and age and die! (romantic score ZERO)
(10) Damon: I love you however you are, Elena, but I prefer you as a vampire so we can be together forever! (romantic score 9/10)

Not as good as previous seasons and the loss of Alaric does show. There's lot of issue over Elena being sire bonded to Damon (one of those false relationship obstacles we've talked about before). There's a nice road trip/flashback episode and "American Gothic" with Elijah and Katherine making an appearance is fun, but it's a patchy season. I sort of enjoy it while I watch it, but then I'm just left feeling "meh" or "Angry At The Writers/Stefan" when I think about it later!
