Dear Yuletide Writer

Thank you so much for participating in Yuletide this year. To help you out, I'll ramble more than necessary about my likes, dislikes, and about my requested fandoms. I know I always find it helpful to have some guidance about your giftee likes/dislikes; it takes away some of the potential anxiety about writing something they'll enjoy.

Likes: Genres include drama, gen, crack, humour, hurt/comfort, character study, action/adventure. Being shown another side to a character. Rare ships, OT3s. Some realism in sex scenes – eg condoms being mentioned. Fairy tales and mythological narratives and motifs.
Please don't consider this a laundry list of must-do's or the only things I like, I'm just trying to think of particular themes I enjoy.

Kinks: kinks include hair kink, tattoos/scars, bathing/showering, desk sex, non-sexual bed sharing. I include these only for reference and do not expect any reference to be made to them :D

What I don't enjoy reading: babyfic/preg/mpreg/fpreg; animal abuse; schmoop (I know, it's a fine line between fluff and schmoop but I think there is one); rape; overt misogyny not being called out; bullying.

Other stuff: I'm on the asexual spectrum, and while I absolutely appreciate well-written porn/erotica, I dislike portrayals of penetrative sex as the be-all and and-all of a relationship. Non-sexual intimacy is more romantic to me – things like heartfelt discussions, kissing, cuddling, displays of trust, emotional closeness.

Also, I have a lot of fandoms. If you want to write a crossover with one of those, that would be fine (hopefully tags/fic/my tumblr might give you an idea of favourite characters!) ETA: an incomplete list is here

I'll try to mention where I'm at in canon, what I most love about the show/character and give a range of ideas/prompts for each fandom requested.

Fandoms requested:

The Borgias

I'm currently working my way through the third season and should be up to date by the time Yuletide rolls around. I have seen most spoilers for the third season though and the awful ebook "Borgia Apocalypse". Given the ebook and some of the darker tone of season three, I'm probably more interested in season one and two, AUs, or season three set fics where C/L isn't a terrible thing and they're equally devoted to one another.

I chose Cesare because while there are so many great characters in the show, he's the one who I'm most invested in. Shipwise, I'm happy with Cesare/Lucrezia friendship or romance and I'm okay with Cesare/Micheletto bromance or slash in fic (also as L/C/M OT3 if you think you can make it work)

Things I'd rather like to read; Lucrezia claiming Cesare as "hers" in a role reversal from the canon. Alternate history post season three; what happens if Cesare doesn't die in battle? Or even earlier, what if he wasn't incapacitated when Rodrigo was, and seized power for himself instead of being forced to side with Della Rovere? (I've done a bit of reading about the real history but I don't care about accuracy so much as I care about story and character, so don't worry about the facts too much!) Modern AU settings. Crossovers. On the fairy tale theme, Red Riding Hood, but Cesare's the one in red…
I hope there's plenty of options in there for you to think about.

Revenge

Third season isn't airing in the UK just yet so I'm seeing only mild spoilers and promo pics, so pre-show, s1, s2, and your head!canon for the period between s2 and s3 is all good with me, though if there's something revealed in s3 you really think needs including, I'm okay with it.

I love Nolan/Emily friendship and/or romance. I liked the "spy" aspect of Nolan, Emily, Aiden working together to bring down the Initiative though it all ended badly.

Things I'd rather like to read; missing/extended scenes generally; Nolan's POV on some of the things Emily has done/got him involved in. I realise Nolan is free in season three, but I'm not sure how long he spent in jail – what is/was your head!canon for that; how did he cope? How far will Nolan's loyalty to Emily go? AUs, crossovers. Nolan being Nolan in anything wacky/fluffy you care to write.

Da Vinci's Demons

I really enjoyed the first season of Da Vinci's Demons, another Renaissance-set show in my list. However I often felt there was a lot of missing backstory about exactly how Leonardo met Vanessa and "rescued" her from the convent, how he met Nico, why loyal Nico consents to all Leonardo's wacky plans with a barely a complaint.

So ideally, I'd like either pre-series fic showing how the three became friends, or just some everyday wackiness where one of Leonardo's plans goes awry and Vanessa and Nico have to help him out. Please feel free to include any of the other characters in the show. I'm okay with side Vanessa/Leonardo but this isn't really a "shippy" show for me. Crack would be great, but drama is fine too. Crossovers welcome, especially if Leonardo accidentally discovers/invents time travel or how to step into works of art. If at some point I say "Poor Nico!" about his being used as a guinea pig, I'll consider it utterly in character :D

Motive

The only thing I'm not interested in here is a focus on Angie's relationship with her son. Pretty much anything else is fair game. I especially love the banter Angie carries on with everyone, especially Vega, Betty, and Lucas.
A few random ideas/prompts:
Why after all her other jobs did she finally become a cop?
What does she most like to do on her time off – argue over what movie to see with Vega, complain about the overpriced cocktails Betty likes to order on a girl's night out, eat junk food in her PJs?
I'm imaging after the finale we'll jump forward a few months where Angie is coming back to work after the shooting and saying she's ok with it but there'll be "issues" she's still dealing with – but what's your head canon for the time post season one and the start of season 2? Does she have nightmares over hearing that gunshot and running back outside to find Vega? Do Vega and/or Betty keep going round to her place to convince her to come back to work?
Angie has an ability to zero on in the right suspect early on in the case. Is there any reason behind this? Even something paranormal if you have ideas about that. Does it impact her life in other ways? Maybe she finds herself using this ability when she discovers one or more people she works with and trusts most are lying to her and has to find out why.
Something more on the crack side; the undercover couple (Vega or Lucas as her 'husband' would both be prime lol material) for example, or some other crack trope you're fond of.
If you have a really great AU idea or crossover, go for it!
