Update/Writing Progress

Two thirds of the way through November. I don't think I'm going to make my goal of 8k of fic this month.
I spent a lot of time recently sorting out LJ and other subscriptions, transferring everything to tracking by email or rss feed. Thanks for your impending f-list overhaul that's made that necessary, LJ!
I also sorted out the LJ memories in case things disappeared and several pieces of fic had gone missing due to deleted journals/deleted entries – mostly older things and not, I think, due to these latest shenanigans, although that's why I was backing things up. Why must people delete all their old entries? :(
Also, my notifications from LJ seem to be delayed, sometimes only by minutes, sometimes by hours. So I might be a bit slow to respond to entries/comments because now I have to check my LJ inbox as well as my own email. Very annoying. On the other hand, all my important notifications now sit in my email folder until I've dealt with them so overall there's less chance of me closing a firefox tab accidentally and forgetting about it.
I've done some other housekeeping this month:
Made posts for recent bingo claims with banners, and added links to my profile
Updated awards/banners 2012 post and created Legendland Battle 11 & 12 banner post
Posted miscellaneous fic from previous phases of writerverse
Made minor cosmetic changes to my LJ layout and in particular my DW layout
Completed and posted my original fic index posts
Added my Original Fic masterpost link to my sidebar
I've also done some writing:
Review for Legendland episode "Mirror", while meta than fic, ended up at 550 words approx
updating my GoT series - since it isn't new, just minor edits post-beta and posting, it only sort-of counts
I have posted a couple of new fic items – three original fic, two LotS fanfic, plus I've a few more days to write and post things :D
I did also write an outline for a potential Yuletide fic (1.5k) but then decided I'd write something different for my recipient and have completed the rough first draft (1.2k) and had it beta-read; the word count may increase a little during editing. That won't be posted publicly until January, after the Yuletide reveal, so it counts, but won't show up on my round-up post at the end of the month. But that's nearly 3k of writing I suppose.
And I've been doing some real life stuff, like going out to a park for a walk in the autumn leaves, and, of course, playing with the ratties, Madison and Claudia. Photo post soon!
So while I'm somewhat disappointed that I won't meet my goal, I'm not too upset. There were other things I did, things that were important or enjoyable. I've not felt lost creatively – I've made graphics for landcomms and so on – I just haven't written much down. I can live with that. It's all good. And I'll do better soon. And I don't even feel I need to tag this as 'whelmed' :D

I haven't really thought about how I'm going to cope with LJ's changes, and am once again impressed by how organized you are. It's always nice to have everything all neatly sorted and where you want it :)

Date: 2012-11-21 11:21 am (UTC)Organizing took days and days and I'm still adjusting to not using the f-list as my first stop. One of those 'worth it in the end' tasks. But if the notifications will play nice, it's helpful to have all my 'to do' emails in my inbox :D
