Dear Yuletide Writer

Thank you so much for participating in Yuletide this year. To help you out, let me ramble about my likes, dislikes, and about my requested fandoms.

I'm going to copy over most of what I wrote last year because I realise that having some guidance about what your giftee likes/hates can be incredibly helpful and take away some of the potential anxiety about writing something they'll enjoy.

Likes: Genres include drama, gen, crack, humour, hurt/comfort, character study, action/adventure. Being shown another side to a character. Rare ships, OT3s. Some realism in sex scenes – eg condoms being mentioned. Fairy tales and mythological narratives and motifs.
Please don't consider this a laundry list of must-do's, I'm just trying to think of particular themes I enjoy if you're thinking of a particular genre but worried I might hate it.

Kinks: kinks include hair kink, tattoos/scars, bathing/showering, desk sex. I include these only for reference and do not expect any reference to be made to them :D

What I don't enjoy reading: babyfic/mpreg/fpreg; animal abuse; schmoop (I know, it's a fine line between fluff and schmoop but I think there is one); overt misogyny; bullying.

Other stuff: I'm on the asexual spectrum, and while I absolutely appreciate well-written porn/erotica, I dislike portrayals of penetrative sex as the be-all and and-all of a relationship. Non-sexual intimacy is more romantic to me – things like heartfelt discussions, kissing, cuddling, displays of trust, emotional closeness.

Also, I have a lot of fandoms. If you want to write a crossover with one of those, that would be okay with me – it should be fairly obvious from my fic/tags/icons which characters I prefer from each fandom.

The Borgias

I'm currently working my way through the second season and should be up to date by the time Yuletide rolls around, so spoilers shouldn't be a problem. That said, I'm less interested in 'plot' here and more in the characters and relationships.

I chose Cesare because while there are so many great characters in the show, he's the one who always catches my eye and interest. Shipwise, I'm okay with Cesare/Lucrezia friendship or romance and I'm okay with Cesare/Micheletto bromance or outright romance. Anything around his troubled relationship with Juan or his love/hate relationship with Rodrigo or a more general "family" or introspective fic would also be fine. There's lots of room for drama and angst but a more light hearted or even a crack fic would also be fine!


Sinbad

I chose Anwar but aside from that, go wild. Ship him with Rina or Sinbad or both or neither. Tell me more backstory or what happens after the first season finale. Let Anwar save the day on an adventure we never get to see. Make it angsty or fluffy or cracky. I'm not fussy here :D


Revenge

I'm just about finished with the first season, but anything after that would be spoilery so I'd prefer first season or pre-canon or AU or what-have-you.

I love Nolan/Emily friendship and enjoy Nolan/Jack interaction. If you want to explore Nolan's backstory go for it. If you want to write a missing or extended scene go for it. Nolan's complex, a bisexual billionaire who's often awkward around people, a rule breaker (his red jacket at the Fire and Ice ball), someone who wants to do the right thing. Whatever you want to write, in whatever genre, will be good :D
