Beloved Camellia

You are the Light of my Life. You make the Darkness flee! Your skin like alabaster! Your eyes like sapphires! Never have I beheld a woman so beautiful as yourself. You seem luminous, like a goddess rather than a mere mortal! Please say you are attending dinner at Lord Edward's house tomorrow, for I must lay eyes upon you again.

Every moment I am away from you is painful! You have captured my heart! I would pledge myself to you! Ask anything of me, and it shall be done even if I must walk into hell and steal from the Devil.

Thank you for your correspondence. However as I have previously told you on innumerable occasions, I am promised to another, Lord Nicholas. This behaviour is unseemly and I beg you to turn your attentions elsewhere. You will make a fine husband for the right woman. Alas, I am not, and never could be, she.

Regretfully, I will not be attending the dinner party. I am accompanying Lord Nicholas to the theatre that evening. I have already given Lord Edward my apologies. I would urge you to attend however, and to make enquiries of Sir Francis regarding his cousin Lady Sophia, a delightful and most eligible young woman.

Author Notes: I see this as being a situation where Aura, using the name Camellia, has used her Allure a little too well. Poor Aaron is infatuated, not knowing the truth about who and what 'Camellia' and 'Lord Nicholas' are.

A tricky situation. I feel sorry for Aaron, but Aura seems to be handling it the best way possible.

I love correspondence fic - it's fun to think of the characters writing their letters, and what they include and what they leave out.

I was stuck for ideas this time around and Anna suggested Aura-verse, and this is what I came up with. Poor Aaron most likely only thinks he's madly in love and she's tried letting him down gently but it's not working!

Oh, yes, there are probably all sorts of discarded drafts when people write important letters :D
