Happy 4th July/Independence Day to anyone reading who is celebrating it and/or doesn't have to work today!


(I used to watch this movie religiously on or around the date. It's where I learned the phrase "plausible deniability". Good times :D)

I went to see the fireworks yesterday (the day they hold them varies from town to town) and that was a lot of fun :D

Sadly I don't know that movie, though.

Independence Day? ID4? Where Bill Pullman is president, Will Smith kicks alien butt and the White House gets blown to smithereens? Full of genre actors, great cheesey scifi action movie :D

Oh, Will Smith! Is that the one with the aliens and the poor First Lady dying along with most of the planet but Will Smith triumphs in the end with the remnants of civilization?

I always prefer apocalypse movies where someone's alive at the end ;)

Yes! That's the one. And the dog! They even save the dog :D Very important. And one of the few kids in movie history who doesn't wander off and get in trouble when his mother tells him to stay put!

I love that kid. I'm pretty sure that was Will Smith's actual family - his wife and son, I mean, and now I'm wondering about the dog. Probably it's not theirs, but it would be cute if it was, wouldn't it? ;)

No, I don't think he ever married Vivica Fox. He does work with his family often now though, which is sweet :)
I just checked out the kid to make sure it wasn't Will's son from his first marriage. He isn't (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0046723/) but omg, he was born in 1988 and is 24 now! That makes me feel old!!
