Angst bingo – four fills
10 icons for the
angst_bingo prompt "Kidnap/abduction". Fandom: Legend of the Seeker. Rating: PG-13 (some violence)
In the episode "Light", Zedd is captured by Denna.
10 icons for the
angst_bingo prompt "Fever". Fandom: Legend of the Seeker. Rating: PG-13
In the episode "Fever", a village has been infected with a fatal and highly infectious fever. Zedd tries to heal the afflicted but they panic and overwhelm him. Kahlan tries to rescue him, but she and Zedd both become infected.
10 icons for the
angst_bingo prompt "Character Death". Fandom: Legend of the Seeker. Rating: PG-13 (images of dead characters but minimal gore)
George Cypher ("Prophecy"); Michael Cypher ("Hartland"), Tarralyn Zorander ("Bloodline"), Jennsen Rahl ("Unbroken"), Darken Rahl awakes in the Underworld ("Marked"), Cara kneels by Leo's corpse ("Perdition"), Zedd at his mother's grave ("Confession"), Cara Mason ("Tears"), Richard watches Kahlan fall to her death ("Eternity"), Richard is the only survivor of a massacre at the Palace of the Prophets ("Perdition")
And while it's not part of the bingo fill, I'm going to mention my "A hero is someone who gets other people killed" wallpaper because it seems relevant here. People tend to die around Richard. Frequently.
(also at A03)
10 icons and one wallpaper for the
angst_bingo prompt " Shot down". Fandom: Smallville. Rating: PG-13 (some gore)
"Bernard Chisholm, a doctor who died and was brought back to life by the Kandorians so they can experiment on him, escapes and kidnaps some Kandorians in order to prove aliens have invaded Earth. Bernard tries to get Lois to write a story validating his claim, but when Lois refuses, he kidnaps her too. In an effort to save his people, Zod poses as a reporter from the Daily Planet and uncovers Bernard's secret lab" Conspiracy @ the Smallville Wiki
A literal interpretation of 'shot down'; Zod is shot by Chisholm. Lois tries to comfort Zod and stem the blood flow without success. Later, Clark shows up.
"You're going to get what you wanted," Zod tells him. "I'll never see the sun rise on your planet again." Clark protests that he'll save him, but Zod clasps his hand. "You can't save me," Zod says and slips away…

I like the wallpaper, too - it's wonderfully expressive. In justice to Richard, though, heroes aren't the only ones who get people killed.
I like the Smallville stuff too - very intense!

Date: 2012-07-03 03:51 pm (UTC)Well it's a quote from Whedon's "Firely"; "A hero is someone who gets other people killed" which strikes me as both somewhat cynical but also often true. Richard isn't responsible for all the deaths (though I could have selected all deaths directly/indirectly related to him I suppose) depicted but it's pretty terrible that his father, brother, mother, sister, and half-brother have died (at least once!). Poor Leo had to die, just like Serena, because we can't have Richard being replaced any more than having Zedd Confessed :P
Clark!Angst is always good to explore. He really wants to save everyone and it's not possible. He hasn't lost as many people as Richard has, but he feels each loss keenly - and here he's letting Jor El down too if he can't save Zod. Like Richard, Clark has a whole range of Issues, but I always liked Clark :D
