How could I have missed this?!?

"You could have waited for me," Darla says, though she's not annoyed. I can just hear Darla's seductive drawl here.

And I loved the last line - Spike, for all his tough talk, always semms to be the most 'innocent' one in this ensemble, both in your fic and in the show. But since he's the youngest, that makes sense.

I wrote it for whedonland and never posted it here until I realised when I began indexing that it was only on AO3. I decided to just link to that entry. Indexing is raising all sorts of minor issues I need to fix like this, with things not crossposted or poor formatting or not fully tagged, so for that alone it's worth the effort when I can be bothered to index :D

I never really thought about it, but yes, Spike is more innocent. I think when we see him as a human he's so naive and sensitive that perhaps that carried over, though as you say, he tries to hide it beneath tough talk.

I wish I'd tagged more efficiently from the start, but even now I'm finding new things to tag like series title and themes that I revisit often. It's another thing that's worth the effort though, to keep tags up to date where possible :D
