24 - Does characterization change depending on who a character is seen by, much like how a child sees their father much differently than their mother does? What are examples of this in your own writing?
That depends on the POV of the fic, book or chapter in question. If it's first person POV then all other characters will be seen through their eyes and with their biases.
I'm stuck for immediate examples but I certainly try to give POVs the right 'weight' within a story; Cara finds Zedd more irritating than Kahlan does, for example, or an American character might note a British accent that would pass me by as being the default. So to some extent, yes, Zedd will seem more irritating just because it's Cara's POV – although the reader can perhaps also see that what he's doing isn't that big a deal and it is Cara's personality that is at play.
