Writing Update - November word total
Nov. 30th, 2011 04:31 pmSo it's the end of the month – congrats to NaNo winners, and well done for anyone who took part.
My goal was 5k of a novel I'm working on. How'd I do?
I wrote 2885 words of the novel.
I wrote around 3700 words in another 'verse.
I wrote 325 words for an original fic prompt meme.
I've also written about 19k of fanfic, in two separate multichapter fics – different fandoms, neither posted yet, one still being written, minor editing being finished on the other.
I've written about 700 words for Legendland challenges this month and close on 900 words for throneland challenges.
Total words, approx: 27500
Of which original fic: 6900
Of which fanfic: 20600
I'm pleased with this, not least because three months ago, August 30th I complained in an entry that I hadn't really written for three months – only I had, but I was determined that these didn't count. And whined at length about it. I'm in a completely different place now than I was then, so it's interesting to look back – and it reminds me to be thankful for being able to get so much done.
I know a lot of you have been posting longfic, drabble series, and chapters of multichapter epics too. It seems like it's been quite a creative month, NaNo or otherwise :D

Date: 2011-11-30 06:57 pm (UTC)That's very impressive, and I know how much this has meant for you.
I've enjoyed reading the original work you've shared with us, as well as your Seeker drabbles and short fics. I can't wait for the Richard/Darken long fic.
(BTW - Discussion announcement for that will go up late tonight or tomorrow, with actual post going up next Monday. Although, obviously, you're free to post at any time - I just wanted to let you know the PP schedule).

Date: 2011-11-30 06:59 pm (UTC)I'll have to stop 'tinkering' with the longfic then, and actually post it on Monday at the latest. I might do it Sunday, just to get it all posted and working properly on time, especially since LJ has been having issues again.
You've done pretty awesome work yourself this month; I think there must have been 17k of Reckoning AU fic alone :D

Date: 2011-11-30 07:12 pm (UTC)I can't write original work, though, and as much as I love and value well-written fanfiction, coming up with almost 7K of original work involving your own characters, universe and plot is amazing.

I've really enjoyed your original fic, and the Seeker stuff you've posted, of course. And I can't wait for your epic Richard and Darken fic :D
