30 Day Fanfic Writing Meme – Day 27

27 – Where is your favourite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?

I write almost exclusively on the computer. Last year I wrote a large amount of text by hand, and haven’t been able to type it up yet. I need a laptop, netbook, iPad or something like crazy. My desk setup just isn't conducive to copy typing.

I've thought about voice recognition but the software bundled with Vista is, putting it mildly, crap, and I haven't got the cash to buy anything better. Besides, I'd be too embarrassed, I think, to read my work aloud, even to the computer. I can write things I'd be horrified to contemplate speaking about.

Oh, isn't it awful when you write it down by hand and then never have the energy to type it up? I have bits and pieces like that.

Besides, I'd be too embarrassed, I think, to read my work aloud, even to the computer. I can write things I'd be horrified to contemplate speaking about. I definitely empathize with this. Some things are too intense to say aloud.

I think I've got about six k typed up, with about the same again to do...

LOL, it's not just intense things like violence or sex; I'd have problems reading something like 'The cat, being particular about such things, sat upon the mat'; I clearly have issues. It was a pretty big step sharing my work online at all, though, so maybe they're issues I can work through :D
