Ramblings, Bear With, etc
Jan. 1st, 2013 05:34 pmI'll (probably) make a proper Christmas round-up/New Year stuff post at some point. For now I'm frustrated with LJ being all but inaccessible for two days now. I managed to make my New Year post (and trying to crosspost this) but not to reply to all the comments yet – and there might be more comments if LJ was up, because I've got notifications for three new year posts that I haven't been able to visit and comment at yet. Plus there's a ton of Legendland bingo goodies that I haven't been able to look at and comment on yet as well as other posts and fic that I want to read. So, bear with! I'll get to reading/commenting/replying soon :)
With all the downtime/varnish errors and spambots that have been plaguing LJ this week, an easy resolution is to use Dreamwidth more. I'd encourage other people with both LJ and DW accounts to do the same. Here's a few simple ideas.
Crosspost more.
If a fest is being run at both comms (such as hurt/comfort bingo is), sign up at DW.
If a comm. is mirrored at DW, watch it – it will give you access when LJ is down, and if the comm moves to DW completely you'll already be subscribed.
Leave more comments directly at DW entries that are crossposted to LJ (yes, they're easily imported, but it moves traffic stats to DW as a show of good faith/bad faith in LJ, and gets you used to reading more at DW).
I'm already behind on the DW Snowflake Fandom challenge but there's no real deadlines and I can catch up. In between trying to access LJ I've done real life stuff, including going for a walk and having family lunch including the taking of a few family holiday photos. So I've been having some fun. Hope everyone's having a good start to the year.

Writer's Block - Writing Update
Aug. 28th, 2012 12:46 pmAs you've probably noticed, I have been posting fic again. It's been a struggle, often, to get the words out – like work rather than pleasure. But I have challenges to do, and so I've squeezed out fic. Every sentence, every finished piece, makes it that bit easier. I'm getting there. So it's time to acknowledge and show gratitude for that. Also thanks to everyone who left me supportive comments on my writer's block entry, and to those of you who leave comments/reviews which make it all seem worthwhile ♥
