Type: Poetry
Words: 65 (9 lines)
Prompt: For the
genprompt_bingo prompt "Hard and Soft"
Warnings: No warnings apply
Notes: With bonus gif made from a video I took of the sea at Barry Island, 2019, and a "The Simpsons" macro

The cliffs encircle the beach
A solid presence behind you
as you stand at the edge of the sea
Yet as the waves gently lap at your feet,
Your toes sinking into the sand
Remember that the sand was once part of the cliff
That the endless tide,
soft as you dip your fingers in the salty water,
Wears down even the hardest rock eventually
Further Notes: I had a much longer version but discarded and rewrote it as this, which I think gets to the heart of what I was trying to say.
"The Simpsons" Macro; picture of Marge talking to Homer as they sit in bed talking. The text, taken from that episode, reads "Sand makes me sad because it used to be big rocks. But not anymore...not anymore"
