Yes, there's a tumblr post that writers reblog a lot about starting/succeeding later in life with examples including those. Some days I don't feel any older than 28 (my ideal age, the time when I was happiest) and other times I look around at loud 18 year olds who are Doing All The Things Right Now and feel I'm too late. It's difficult and depends on how inspired vs how melancholy I'm feeling at the time.

Tearing out things that have to go is a life lesson, isn't it? Gardening has been rewarding but as winter draws in I'll have to less to do. I'll probably wait until spring to start seeds in covered outdoor containers; I don't have a lot of suitable indoor space, no windowsills to use for seedlings.
Oddly yesterday I found two bulb sprouts while I was tying back the late roses. Not great, if they all come up now due to the mild weather I won't have any spring flowers! And my primula which lasted well into early summer before dying back now has another tiny bud. Weird weather is screwing with all the plants and animals and I suppose that is something to think about when planting.
