Just once a month I make a detailed personal post, and inspired by the Fluent Self blog, I call it a BAG post, where I've Been, am At, am Going. Posts may include good stuff/work/health/family/pets/creativity/general whining and I finish off by including some gifs for people to enjoy.

I've been slacking a bit on these posts over the last months due to a number of factor including lack of interest but let's keep slogging away!

BEEN: August is always a bit rough, as I get a bit older I get more upset over all the things I haven't accomplished since my last birthday, and how September is around the corner and I don't have the money to sign up for an actual course. (Yes, I can learn things from books and online but something accredited would be nice)

I've been slacking off on catching up on my online activities. I have been working a lot in the garden. There's something deeply satisfying about it. Part of that is there's something immediate to show for the work. All the cutting back, digging out, rearranging, replanting, disposing of rubbish, etc makes a huge difference. And people aren't dismissive of it the way they are other things, gardening isn't something that is a waste of time or to be grown out of or given up in favour of a new hobby/relationship.
It's also been a way to be outdoors during the good weather, making the most of the summer weather, and getting some exercise.

So I'm not sorry about it, but I am very behind on my wordcount for GYWO and have a long "to do" list which includes "to write" and "to read" and "to comment on".
I did however post a fic in a new fandom which garnered some positive interest! Plus a few other fics including an original fic drabble.

Bank Holiday weekend; my nephew, Elliot, wanted to "see the trains again" so we had a family day out at the GWR heritage railway. And even though trains aren't my favourite thing it was a pleasant day out in lovely countryside with great freshly prepared food and home-made cake, and chance to travel on steam, old diesel, and narrow gauge trains. And I'm a fan of preserving our heritage!
I haven't downloaded my photos to see if there are any decent ones but I hope to next month.

AT: Behind on my GYWO wordcount. But I intend to sign up for 1 or more Small Fandom Big Bangs (10k) which will help.

Legendland's reunion phase is about to start so yay :)

Thank you so much to everyone on Livejournal who sent me birthday messages. They were much appreciated and so lovely! I had some messages at FB, and a few sweet posts at Tumblr too, and I had pizza and wine so it was a good birthday. I had mostly clothing as gifts, along with Jack Daniels, some earrings, and a couple of ornament type things.

GOING: I'm hoping September, start of the academic year and beginning of cooler weather, might help me get back into more of a routine.

However there is still work to be done in the garden and if I can afford it some bulb planting ready for spring (I've got my eye on a pack of bulbs in Wilko, £4 for 100! But I have 2 close family birthdays in October so I need to start shopping smart for those)
I've applied for free wildlife friendly seed packs online so might have seeds for next year, and I'm reading up on veggie planting – would love to try container growing for carrots, potatoes, spring onions, silverskin onions, and lettuce, maybe tomatoes. I've got a well established rosemary plant and some contained mint, but more herbs are also an option.

Photos: Rather than gifs I'm going to share a couple of photos. I posted a few to my journal and my wordpress from an outing to Sheldon Country Park (DW link) but here are some that I actually feature in; me and Benji taking a terrible selfie and me with Elliot sticking out our tongues :) (There might be heritage rail photos next month)

Thanks for reading :)
