I really, really like what you said about all the clearing out work you did and being exhausted and wanting to stop, but in the end, it was well worth doing and things are better now. That's something I really need to keep in mind in life, not just writing. Sometimes it's so hard to motivate when there won't be an easily seen result or it will be very delayed gratification. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to persevere!

I'm really proud and amazed by you that you completed NaNo early! You rock! And it's good to know that every writer has different methods and tricks and ways of getting it done. I roll my eyes a lot of times when I see Tumblr posts telling people "you MUST do this to be a writer" or giving "advice" on what you HAVE to do. No. No two writers will do exactly the same thing the same way. What works for you may not work for me and vice versa. Sure, it's nice to try different tricks to see if they might be more effective, but if they don't work, we need to go back to what works for us. There's only one hard and fast rule about writing--you have to write. ;D And you, my dear, do that and do that very, very well. <3
