Title: Cobalt is Blue
Fandom: Original
Pairing/Characters: Joe/unnamed woman
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 208
Prompt: For the [livejournal.com profile] writerverse quick fic prompts 'cobalt' and 'exit'. I was going for the metafiction bonus but I don’t think someone telling a story that is real (to them) is the same as them recounting a fictional narrative so it doesn't count.
Summary: Joe makes a mistake. His paramour makes an exit.
Content Notes: No standard warnings apply.

I leaned in, kissed her again. "You're so beautiful," I murmured.

"Tell me," she whispered, closing her eyes. Her dark hair was spread out against the pillows, and her hips arched up against my body as my fingers danced between her waist and her thigh.

"I love your hair," I said, and, reminded of Snow White, "silky and black as a raven's wing. Your full lips as red as blood. Your flawless skin like freshly fallen snow. Your cobalt eyes –"

Her eyes snapped open at that and they were filled with fury.

"And she said, 'My eyes are brown, dumbass'. And kicked me off her, and pulled on her coat. Joe took a swallow of his drink. "I tried saying, I thought cobalt was a kind of brown! Wish I'd said I was colourblind instead because she didn't listen. She yelled something at me in French – don't know what only that it surely wasn't flattering - and stormed out of the door, slamming it so hard I thought it would come off the hinges."

Tara shook her head. "You are a dumbass," she said.

"But I have the best stories," Joe said, saluting her with his beer and Tara laughed and clinked her pint glass against his.
