War of Roses promo: Da Vinci's Demons
Sep. 16th, 2016 05:32 pmFor the
a_war_of_roses "Fandom History 101" challenge; 1/5 Da Vinci's Demons

Title: Da Vinci's Demons
Format: TV Show
Era/Location: Renaissance Italy
Brief Summary: A fantastical look at the early life of Leonardo da Vinci and his quest for a mysterious book
Why you like it/would recommend it: The characters and the actors – Tom Riley as Leo and Blake Ritson as primary antagonist Girolamo Riario are top notch. In season one Leo's friends (Zoroaster, Nico Machievelli, Vanessa) work with him, while season two takes Leo, Zo, Nico and Riario on a voyage to the New World, where Leo and Riario have to work together and a flashback to Riario and his cousin, Lucrezia's, past changed my opinion of them for the better. Season 3 made some poor choices in terms of plot over characters and relationships but Season 2 in particular is golden. Not for historical purists but if you like a touch of fantasy in your historical media this is a good one.
