I'm going to do these days together because they're very closely related:

4 – Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?

I talk about my muse more generally than that. I sometimes have conversations with her via freewriting about issues I have with fic. I see her as being the creative part of my subconscious. When I'm connected to the 'source' of creativity, when the words flow easily, when I write something and say 'Um, okay, I did not know that was going to happen', that's her doing. Conversely, when I edit and agonise over particular words, that's me as editor.

5 –If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?

Stories and characters should speak to you, and you should respect when a narrative takes on a life of its own or a character becomes more important in a story.

Some of you may have seen this, but I only saw it for the first time last night in the Tabrett Bethell's Facebook album. For some reason I really love this pic; I want to icon it and make graphics with it and write fic about it. Not sure what role she's playing here/which movie it is from. [livejournal.com profile] imaginary_lives to the rescue; it's from Sanctuary a soon to be released short film.
