procrastinating? me?
I finally watched part one of SyFy's Alice last night :D I now get why so many people love it and icon it and ship Alice/Hatter. I can't wait for the second part next week. If you have seen it and know the fandom, I welcome any recs for vids, fic, graphics, etc - I promise not to spoil myself by looking them up until after viewing the next part.
The smallfandomfest closes tomorrow - for me that's probably more like early hours of Tuesday. For some reason I'm still having problems. And if it gets finished at all, due to the deadline, it's going to be unbetaed - though I have a minor rant to post about beta reading. I post without beta's all the time - only to come back later and read with fresh eyes and facepalm at my mistakes.
I've been thinking about improving my tagging - again. I already did a big sort and rename and now I'm thinking about adding more tags for characters and ships I most use. I know that's helpful when I'm at a journal and looking for more of the types of fic I've just enjoyed there. I've started to add 'themes' which will be useful for meta, too. Because I do have themes and concepts I revisit.
In trying to find one of my fics [which I hadn't yet posted here, and which prompted the desire for better tagging] I read some of my old private entries. It made me realise that I do have very bad lows sometimes, but that where I am now is so much better in most ways than where I was back then. So recording lows, even privately, and highs [private or public] does serve a purpose. It gives me perspective, and in fact made me feel very happy at my progress.
