GYWO Yahtzee: original poetry fills
For my prompts here
I decided to write poetry and to meet minimum scoring requirements, tanka (5/7/5/7/7) as opposed to haiku (5/7/5 syllables)
Tucking these away for the writing blog if I ever resurrect it.
(1) picture prompt: beer bottles toasting against the setting sun
Are you ever torn
between toasting another
day survived, and the
sad recognition of a
day of life spent; gone
2) word prompt: rustle
The rustle of leaves
against her window at night
speaks of summer's end,
Cooler autumn nights bringing
deeper sleep and blissful dreams
3) word prompt: narcississtic
Narcissus loved his
own visage; a tragic end
A cautionary
tale, and even now we use
his name for self-obsession
4) picture prompt: vast and mysterious library or museum
Libraries, stores of
knowledge, and therefore power
No wonder that they
are liminal spaces, full
of potentiality
5) picture prompt: a garden centre with shelves of plants
Fragrant rosemary
Colourful geranium
Spiky cactus plant
Which plants will you choose to buy
to brighten home or garden

It's a very mysterious image and I kept thinking about libraries like The Library as per your icon, and the Discworld's "L-space" or Library Space " which links all libraries and is "the ultimate portrayal of Pratchett's concept that the written word has powerful magical properties on the Discworld, and that in large quantities all books warp space and time around them."
There are so many amazing plants that it can be hard to choose! I tried to go for senses, scent, colour (sight), touch (spiky) to highlight some of the differences :)
