Firefly Fic: Sword Fight
Title: Sword Fight

Warnings:Spoilers for "shindig"
Summary: Sword fighting isn't as much like dancing as others would have you believe
Mal had once heard that sword fighting was a lot like dancing. It wasn't.
For starters when dancing, no-one smacked your behind with the flat of a blade when you mis-stepped. For another, dancing was supposed to be pleasurable, rather than dangerous. Generally speaking, dancing did not involve getting stabbed.
Sure, if he'd had the skill and years of training, maybe then he could have twirled the blade so the sharp edge caught the early morning sunlight. Maybe he could have moved gracefully, each step a carefully considered manoeuvre.
Mal supposed it didn't matter much, seeing as how he won.
