Summary: A newspaper report into the investigation of the death of Humpty Dumpty

EVENING STANDARD, Early Edition
Humpty Dumpty: Contractors Implicated
Two days ago Humpty Dumpty, a well-known figure throughout the local area, suffered a tragic fall. The ambulance cart was summoned and the horse-drawn vehicle made a record breaking journey against strong winds to the wall which Humpty had been discovered at the base of.
Despite the best efforts of the medics however, Humpty succumbed to his injuries. An inquest was called and an investigation launched. There was some suspicion of foul play, with one informant suggesting that Humpty had been pushed. Another theory was that Humpty had been sitting on the wall, leaned too far forward, and fallen. Without an eye witness it would be impossible to tell.
However it has been discovered by lead investigator Willows that the wall itself was to blame. A stray brick, brick dust, and a telltale crack led her to question the structural integrity of the wall.
An experiment was conducted, where a volunteer, wearing protective garments and a helmet, climbed onto the wall. The moment a strong breeze came along the entire wall swayed, almost dislodging the volunteer. Given the winds were much stronger two days ago and that Humpty, unlike the volunteer, would not have been prepared for the wall to move, it is the opinion of investigator Willows that this was the cause of death.
The contractors who built the wall have been arrested and evidence will be heard next week. Our reporters will be at the court hearing and our readers will be the first to know the outcome.
