Three Sentence Fics
My fics written for the three sentence ficathon Dec 2013-Jan 2014. Prompts with links to original thread, followed by AO3 link and the fic itself.
Merlin, Gwaine/Morgana, "Stop flirting! We're fighting!" ; also at AO3 Fighting/Flirting
"Stop flirting, you fool," Morgana cries, eyes flashing golden.
Gwaine grins, despite the bruises and his swollen lip, and she raises her hand to slap him again.
She stops when he closes his eyes in anticipation of the blow, and kisses him instead, hard, revelling in the taste of blood on his lips.
Discworld, Ridcully, is one meal without any issues really asking too much? Also at AO3 Sheep
Ridcully stumbled around on top of the table and nearly tripped over the cruet set. He batted at the nearest sheep, a particularly large sheep which was trying to eat his robe, yelling, "Shoo, shoo, honestly, is one meal with any issues asking too much?"
"Baa," said the sheep and relieved itself on the dining room floor.
V, Lisa/Tyler, I'm sorry for eating you . Also at AO3 False Apology
Lisa watches in horror as she (Not!Lisa, her evil sibling, her vile clone) devours Tyler. Then Not!Lisa looks at the monitor as if she knows the real Lisa is watching (she probably does) and then down at the ruined corpse.
"Oh, Tyler," Not!Lisa says with mock regret, one finger at her lower lip, "I'm so sorry for eating you."
Borgias, Cesare /& Lucrezia, chink in my armour. Also at AO3 Chink In His Armour
She is the chink in his armour, his one weakness. He would gladly lay down his life for her, and he would die if she were to perish. Lucrezia does not need a knife or poison to kill him, for she holds his fragile heart in her hands, and can crush it with a single word.
Justified, Boyd/Raylan, that hat. Also at AO3, That Hat
"I'm not saying it's not a fetching hat, Raylan," Boyd purred, leaning in close, "but do you ever take it off? Or do you wear it even in bed?"
Raylan replied softly in Boyd's ear, "Why don't you come and find out?"
Justified, Raylan/Tim, sarcasm, also at AO3 Sarcasm
"You gonna get out of my face or you gonna kiss me?" Raylan asked.
Tim, mere inches away, stared into his eyes, and said, keeping his own tone as sarcastic as Raylan's, "Maybe I will kiss that goddamn sexy mouth of yours."
The problem with both being such sarcastic s.o.b.'s was that it was hard to tell when either of them was being serious, but when Raylan huffed a little and said, "I'd like to see you tr-" he never got to finish the thought or the sentence, for Tim's hands were on his shoulders and his lips were on Raylan's, and the argument was forgotten in the realisation that this was exactly what he wanted.
Hawaii Five-0, Steve/Danny + Chin + Kono "they show up at the station wearing vampire fangs, & Steve doesn't even have to ask - he KNOWS they've somehow gotten ahold of that goddamn Moonlight show with his actor doppelgänger." Also at AO3 Ill Met, Because, Moonlight
Steve blinks, momentarily startled at Kono's fangs, but when Chin appears behind him and says "I vant to bite your neckkk!" he sighs. They'd obviously seen that damn vampire show where the actor playing the lead happens to look like him – Steve thinks he's better built than Mick and without the long hair he doesn't really think the resemblance is remarkable (and, for the record, he'd be much less whiny vampire).
"Very funny guys," he says and then Danny jumps out from behind the desk dressed in a cape with his hair slicked back and his own fangs in and he looks ridiculous, yet suddenly Steve finds vampires much more erotic and begins fantasising about a love bite…
Fairy tales or myths, things to never trust. Also at AO4 Beware (playing with tropes)
If you go into the forest, beware my child, for there are predators who may look pretty and speak gentle words but are deadly.
Stay off the paths and to the shadows and trust no human. Beware especially the ones who dress in red for they carry knives and kill wolves without hesitation.
Revenge, Nolan/Emily/Aiden, negotiation. Also at AO3 Negotiating a Balance
She doesn't belong to either of them, Nolan thinks, but to herself. They both belong to her though. And although it's been a sometimes awkward, and sometimes amusing, journey on their way to this triad – Emily once punched Aiden for being rude to Nolan, and Nolan managed to accidentally-on-purpose bite Aiden's shoulder one night – they've now negotiated a perfect balance of trust and love.
The Originals, Elijah & Klaus, anything involving family or their bond as brothers. Also at AO3 Brotherly Love
For Elijah, family was everything; family and honour. It wounded him when Klaus spoke of his desire for family, as if Elijah and Rebekah did not exist. As if Elijah had not spent centuries loving Klaus despite everything, and would spend many centuries more doing the same.
This last fill is a bit longer, I combined all three of the suggested prompts:
The Originals, Elijah/Rebekah, wanted or sister or chivalrous. Also at AO3 Her Knight
When she was a child, Rebekah loved stories of princesses being rescued by brave knights. As the years wore on however, she felt trapped like a princess in a tower, besieged by a monster – Klaus – and with no chivalrous knight or prince to save her.
Except, of course, for noble Elijah – her beloved brother, best of all her siblings, honourable to a fault. For the longest time though she thought of him only as brother until one day, when Elijah came to comfort her after another fight with Klaus, she finally acknowledged her true desire. She pulled him close, whispered, "Save me," and pressed her lips to his. He hesitated, and she could feel her heart breaking, until he returned the kiss, oh so gently.
"Sister. Lover…Rebekah…" he breathed, and then he kissed her again and Rebekah felt her heart soar. To be loved was all she had ever wanted, and that now he was hers, body as well as soul, Elijah would never let her down.
