Is anyone watching? Because if there was ever a female focussed show that managed to be more than just about romance, this is it, in all it's sisterly dynamics, mother-daughter tribulations, magic with consequences glory.

I'd write more of a post, but it doesn't seem worth it if no-one is watching, though I might touch on it again later with regards to things it makes me think about.

Maybe because it's Canadian? I know here in the UK that Canadian shows get more notice/promotion than they seem to in the USA.

I didn't even know it was Canadian. Although it seems like a lot of shows these days are, or atleast filmed there. Lost Girl is another one of my favorites.

Definitely filmed there, plenty of British and Canadian actors, just like Lost Girl, which I also love :D
edit: the wiki says it is an American show, but it looks and feels Canadian to me, (scenery, actors, etc) which is a positive in my book!

I haven't heard of it, but now I want to see it from your description. On Demand has episodes 7-9 - if I pick up there will I be able to follow what's happening?

Hmm, I think it would be difficult. I just checked and I've only seen the first five, and each one has built upon the previous storyline. Very much an arc rather than an episodic show, possibly because it's based on a novel of the same name. Maybe it will come back around soon :)

It's such a cute show, isn't it? I mean, obviously it has dark and creepy bits, but on the whole, it's sweet. I am a bit behind, though. I've only seen through 1x07. I imagine it doesn't have a huge audience because it airs on a cable channel here in the States. And not one of the more popular cable channels, at that. I also imagine it took some hits because most of the leads are women and audiences tend to not like that much. But witches! And family! And complicated relationships between women as the focus of the show!

I've seen the first five episodes and I'm enjoying more than I expected I would :D I was worried, given the UK channel it airs on, that it would be more "chick flick" than it is. The characters are all complex and great to watch :D

Hello :) I hope you find this! i'm through thr first six episodes, and while I think the start was somewhat slow, I love it now! I really like Wendy, and can very much identify with Ingrid - the bookworm whose love life is always a shambles. I can't wait to see where the show goes, but I'll have to wait now, as it's Christmas :)))

yay :) I love Wendy and Ingrid too - and here's a quick funny story. I was making Yule cookies with my sister and we were talking about the show while she was getting ingredients from a cupboard. I told her to move the stepstool to the next cupboard instead of stretching over because, danger! And then I said that I'm definitely more like Ingrid than Freya :D (Plus the bookworm thing of course!)
