"I have my own handcuffs," Gerry explained, producing them from his pocket.

Amy blinked at him, a little more surprised than she probably ought to be by now. It was thoughtful, she supposed, that he was supplying his own materials. She took the cuffs and examined them. It was the first pair of handcuffs she'd ever held and she took note of the weight and the strength of the links.

"They're real," she ventured. Somehow she'd been expecting the sort of kinky handcuffs she'd seen on some internet sites, with fluffy leopard print fabric or pink feather pink manacles rather than polished steel. Realism was more important to some people than others of course. "You do have keys?"

Gerry nodded and laid one on the table. "I keep a spare in my glove box."

"Very practical," she said approvingly. "You wish me to wear a uniform?"

Gerry shrugged. "It's only really the being put in cuffs," he said. "You could be a plain clothes detective, so long as you restrain me. You can be a bit more rough with me, too."

"More rough?"

"Than when I got arrested." His eyes were unfocussed as he reminisced. "Being arrested sucked, especially as I hadn't done anything wrong, and it took ages to sort out with my boss. But when she handcuffed me…I suppose I ought to be grateful. I might never have discovered how erotic that was, otherwise."

I like that the handcuffs are real - it makes more sense somehow. Also Gerry's summing up of being arrested was cute :)

Thank you :D I feel that the fake handcuffs are for people looking to spice up their usual play rather expressing a deeply held kink. Some degree of realism would seem to be necessary in kink and roleplay for most people.

We have s's to spare, hence we can use them in words like realise and organise too!

Thank you :) Yes, the Post Secret I chose was that image. I tried to hint that it was a bit of a mix up that poor Gerry got arrested at all but at least he did discover a hidden kink :)

I think there's this idea of kink as being rubber nun outfits and fluffy handcuffs which seem to me to be more people playing with the idea of kinkiness. Whereas an actual kink for a particular thing or situation probably benefits from some degree of realism. Although I could be wrong! So yes, real handcuffs are part of the kink for Gerry - along with pushing the boundaries into a bit more roughness that he experienced!
