Feb update/March to do

Feb update:

Make more positive posts? Yes. I had a few rants that I think needed to expressed, but I tried to make some positive posts as well as fanworks.
Related to this, Try and post regular updates that aren't just fic or challenge material: I'm still making more posts this year than aren't just fanworks, which is part of me feeling more comfortable with myself and due to my supportive flist.

Complete at least half of the 100 tales prompts : Um, no...last month I wrote that 'getting to fifty should be accomplished by the end of March if not the end of February'. I overreached; but I still have March to complete the necessary eight fics. I have other prompts and challenges to fill and I let these overtake my commitment to this one. But that's okay.

Continue to compete in challenges at the landcomms I'm part of, and at the People's Palace, as well as do more 20in20 challenges: Yes, but I'm prioritising things. I find I don't tend to do the icons until a ten day warning. I'm probably dropping one landcomm again at the end of the current phase, so I'll back down to two for a while. I did have 'reminder/cheerleader' duties for two comms this month and I found it very enjoyable and made me feel more part of things.

Revamp my LJ/tags etc: I still haven't figured out the coding for fixing where text displays on a header. My ambitious new tagging system hasn't been implemented yet, though I made a start.

Complete my calendar and post it once a month, just before or just after the start of each new month; just posted March :D

Complete the Darkship meme: This is another one that fell by the wayside. I don't know if I'll get back to it this month, but I'm open to the possibility.

More bingo cards; four prompt extra from h/c bingo, dice prompt to do, and a Sanctuary bingo card: completed the h/c bingo card, just on time. Haven't started the picture dice prompts. Haven't started the Sanctuary bingo card. Have my eye on a crossover prompt table, but I need to finish one of the other memes/tables first.

Make more icons for fun, not just challenges: Made some especially just for March :D Mostly I'm still only iconing for challenges, but I did make an icon for LotS Seeker Fic and I'm planning to make some more in a matching style for other characters.

Keep on top of cross-posting fic when it's finished/ after challenge voting: I've been very good at crossposting new stuff. I've still a few things in my backlog folder though, and I haven't crossposted as much LotS stuff to the Seeker Fic as I intended to.

Finish more fic!; LOL.: If there were no deadlines I'd finish almost nothing. But there are, and I did. Seven pieces of fic, plus one that may turn into a multichapter fic [Darken/Nicci] and two chapters of my Snow White fic.

Try to comment more often [and or kudos button/bookmark/favourite] on fic I've read and enjoyed – spread the love :): Yes. Graphics and artwork too.

Be kinder to myself, less self-critical: Yes. Again with the prioritising and also with the overall emphasis on encouraging myself [you can complete it on time] rather than self sabotage [omg, how are you ever going to get it finished?]
I also found free writing helped me get past some blocks, and I've also found myself in the rather new and enjoyable position of feeling overwhelmed but being able to detach from it; to step back and notice the emotional and physical patterns and to look at the situation calmly, and decide what is and isn't important for me to do right now. If I can master this when it comes to self imposed deadlines [ie stuff I only have to do because I signed up for a challenge] then maybe I can apply this to other areas of my life.
♥I have to say that my overall disposition is always helped by the support and camaraderie of my flist :D ♥

Writing some original fic: The Snow White fic is ongoing, and the only original piece I've started thus far. But that's okay, because it's a start.

Others:

• Participate in Yuletide again, this will be the third year of doing so; this is months away so no worries there


• Small Fandom Fest: awaiting next phase


• Use 750 words regularly – and make that post about the site I've been meaning to since I first used it!: Still not done.

NEW

Finish a Firefly fic I've been working on that must be almost two years old now. Stop messing about, acknowledge its completion and post it. Sometimes you have to let go.

Finish and post my LotS AU. Well I have a deadline for it so I can't dilly dally too much on it. I still have some way to go with it, and some plot points to iron out, and it needs a title, and chapter headings and maybe quotes, and I'd like to graphics for some of the chapters...we'll see how this turns out. It was an absolute joy to write at one point, practically writing itself; I'm at fifteen k and still going, more slowly, but getting there :D
