I signed up for the syfybigbang finally. It'll be V (2009) but I haven't decided on the storyline yet. I'm toying with ideas for the scifiland big bang as I think I'll do that separately. It will give me an excuse to do more fic/graphics/fanmixes and take the pressure off the syfy bigbang wordcount being spot on by the first check-in.

For a castleland challenge we had to pair up and write a fic together. I was paired up with kaitlia777 :D; the resulting fic, Take Me Out to The Ball Game, is here

V

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
The teaser trailers, it was scifi, I had vague memories of the earlier miniseries, it had Elizabeth Mitchell and Morena Baccarin

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Right now I absolutely adore it but I've been burned before with shows that can change the rules so easily. Let's see how second season goes and how it treats the characters. That said I'd like to think I'll always love season one no matter what.

3. Favourite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Hearts and Minds stands out; the snarky "Thornbirds" reference Hobbes is justified in making about Erica/Jack, Hobbes with a rocket launcher, the guilt Jack and Erica initially feel over the bombing, how Erica helps Jack gain his composure to deny the accusations against him, the "we're terrorists" lecture Hobbes gives the fifth column, the moment Erica realises that not only are they being framed but there's a spy in her midst. But there's something good in every episode.

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Absolutely. I've read and written fic and have a lot more I want to get round to finishing and posting. And graphics of the pretty that is V are always adorable.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Yes! I'm unsure why it's such a small fandom.

Castle

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
It had Nathan Fillion. Lots of my comms were buzzing about it long before it aired here. It was billed as a quirky crime drama.

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
At this juncture I see no reason to quit it; it depends how much it veers from the first season's overall structure. UST good;Beckett/Castle matrimonial bliss not so much.

3. Favourite episodes/books/movies, etc?
I've only seen first season thus far – s2 premieres very soon here. "Little Girl Lost" was fairly boring but I liked all the other episodes. "Ghosts" was a nice twisted tale with lots of guests I know from other shows. And "Home is Where the Heart Stops"; the part when Castle is humming his theme tune until he's accosted by the criminal is a great moment (Castle tries to get rid of him by turning on the window wipers and protesting that Beckett told him to stay in the car!); plus Castle and Beckett play poker.

4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I'm a member of castleland but I haven't been involved much beyond that – yet.

5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
I'm not sure how popular it is, but why not. More the merrier :)

1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Showing my age but I remember earlier Dr Who. Tom Baker was "my" doctor, the first one I remember watching

2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Sticking around for the foreseeable future

Not really. I've read a bit of fiction and meta but I'm on the periphery as far as participation goes. I was never involved in fandom for "old" Who either.

It's fairly popular I believe but again, the more the merrier!
