Yes it's very sad; I've found new fandoms and many songs I love via some amazing vids. But Youtube is owned by Google now and so content and content protection gets more and more centralised with more and more control over what is allowed to be posted (all sorts of viewpoints too get censored). Plus the AI has got more sophisticated and flag vids for the music or video or both because it recognises copyrighted material. Users try all sorts of pitch adjustment for soundtrack and colourisation for video to try and avoid it and slap the transformative work boilerplate but I think a lot of vidders have given up after too many strikes. Some copyright owners allow their work to be used & just add a label directing people to the official music channel also. Others don't and they're shooting themselves in the foot.
