Any thoughts as to why this is happening? As an older ‘live and let live’ fan with my own complicated backstory I watch the (ugly) discourse and scratch my head.

My best guess is that the more scared people get and feel out of control of the ever increasing global insanity, the more desperate they are to invent scapegoats or control something, anything... shrug.

So sorry that happened to you with friends. That’s rough.
