I have notebooks filled with task lists and notes for fic and recipes and a quick view diary per month and so on in no discernible order. What appeals about bullet journalling is the freeform approach I already have but with the modcium of effort to create an index and weekly + monthly pages that makes all these things useful. So I can find things again, so I can transfer tasks instead of forgetting them after a week. It's something I know but fail to commit to, that if I write something down it is more likely to get done! So if I can stick to this, I think it will be helpful. And I definitely find I write "nice" notes as well as tasks and venting. I'm glad you find it helpful too; that's two other writers singing the praises of it so it has appeal for creatives as well as more business types!

I so miss community. I miss threaded conversations. I miss being able to post a question or ask for a beta at a community and getting responses that were always helpful/supportive even if they weren't immediate solutions. I miss the way you didn't have to be a Big Name Blogger to gain audience because of the way communities provided spaces for individuals to gather. And I know other people miss this too but won't do anything about it. While those of us who miss it and are still trying to do something about it are left holding down the fort as best we can, shaking our head at those whining about getting wet. Come inside, it's dry here, and we have cookies!

Hope your family situation improves soon and that you can get some writing done. Happy November, whether you're NaNoing or not, and here's to a successful LJ Idol. (You're braver than me. The popularity contest aspect it brings out in the later stages soured me to participating, the same way I'm irked about needing more followers to be considered a talented Tumblr user/Pinterest user/Blogger or a story needing 10+ kudos to be considered worth reading.)
