The entire 'verse is based around fourth wall breaking, lots of complaining about their author and her whims and bad habits (not like having a decent map). It's fun, but I try to also throw in some serious things and stuff like farmland is something I've definitely picked up from reading meta from you and other commentators about what makes a world believable :)
