I love the idea of the plant that grows even in winter :D A lovely moment for Kat and Honor to reaffirm their bond :)

I do find it a little troubling that Kat just assumes her relationship with MacBride will end quickly. I know she can't get married because of being High Queen, but it seems lonely to always be anticipating the end of a romantic relationship.

It also suggests that Kat doesn't take the men she sleeps with very seriously. I think I understand more now why her relationship with Honor never quite goes over that line.
