Title: Piqued
Prompt:What’s in the Bag?
Bonus? yes (all dialogue)
Word Count: 142
Rating: PG
Original/Fandom: original
Warnings (Non-Con/Dub-Con etc): none
Summary: One character is being nosy and the other tries to stop them being inquisitive, while correcting their grammar
"What's in the bag?"
"Never you mind."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means it's none of your business, stop being nosey. Don't touch it."
"Oh. Well now I really want to look in the bag. It's like, forbidden fruit, or something."
"Well that much I'll admit. I can assure you it isn't any sort of fruit, forbidden, imaginary, or otherwise."
"If you'd just said it was stuff, or dirty clothes, or something you wouldn't have picked my curiosity."
"One, why would dirty clothes be in this new and expensive looking bag? Two, it's piqued, not picked."
"I thought it was picked. What does piqued mean?"
"Um, stimulated, I suppose. Makes you more curious. Picked just doesn't make any sense."
"It does. It picked my curiosity up."
"Don't try to reason your way into poor grammar usage. And don't touch the bag!"

The water looked deep and inviting
She stripped off down to her bikini and edged forward. She dipped one toe into the lake and gave an involuntary shriek when the water was much colder than she had expected.
It would be all right once she was fully immersed, she told herself sternly. Gathering up her nerve, she stepped out into the lake, ignoring the chill that ran through her, biting her lip. When the water was just above her waist, she ducked down so her shoulders sank beneath the water. Her teeth were chattering but, finally, she began to acclimatise.
She took a moment to appreciate the beauty of the location and then began to swim with long, elegant strokes. She was utterly alone, and blissfully content.

A Future Piece You'd Like To Write"
I'd like to write a sequel to my big bang fic 'Suit of Swords', a modern AU of "Legend of the Seeker". It would feature Nicci, an attempt on Zedd's life, and Richard's discovery that his half-brother Darien Rahl is alive and well – and plotting against him. Cara would be awesome as always, and she'd maybe have a romance with Jensenn. It would increasingly move away from the events of canon, though Richard would be searching for the Stone of Tears as per second season. In the AU the stone is a drug that makes its victims compliant, something Rahl hopes will lead him to victory as a tyrant-king rather than the elected official position he was chasing in the first story.
