I don't watch the Vampire Diaries, so am not famiiar with Damon or Stephan. Other than Buffy and Angel, I'm really not a big vampire show/book fan, but I have watched the entire first season of the Borgias, so I certainly get the major premise of a vampire committing the ultimate blasphemy.
And the vision of Lucrezia and Cesare standing at each side of Pope Damon was vivid.
People say it is better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven. He's decided it's better to rule on earth under the pretence it's for a heavenly cause. Great line, as was the last.
